The collection, owned by The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment Association, holds a variety of objects, photographs, scrapbooks, documents, and archival material related to The Essex and Kent Scottish. One of Canada's oldest infantry regiments, the Essex and Kent Scottish has a regimental history that dates to 1749 as French militia at Fort Pontchartrain (Detroit) although it has unbroken lineage dating to 12 June 1885. The collection covers the activities of the Regiment in times of peace and conflict, including both domestic and overseas operations.

The collection does not feature every artifact held by the Regiment, however, it is our goal to make all material accessible to the public. We have digitized many artifacts in our collection, but it is a gradual and ongoing process. We will be adding artifact records to the Online Collection regularly as digitization efforts continue.
