Lion's head ornament on top of flag pole. Regimental Colour: Dark blue flag of crown above shield with three sabres and unicorn with maple leafs and thistle to either side, "The Essex & Kent Scottish" around shield, "Semper Paratus" under motif, surrounded by yellow floral wreath. On L side: "Detroit"; "Niagara"; "Somme 1916-18"; Vimy 1917"; "Passchendale"; "Hindenberg Line"; "Pursuit to Mons"; "Bourguebus Ridge"; "The Scheldt"; "Goch-Calcar Road"; "Xanten"; "Oldenberg".
